EUCS - FinalsSubmitted by barry on Thu, 2007-01-25 21:16.
5 Oct 2007 - 00:00 7 Oct 2007 - 23:59 Etc/GMT Dear European Ultimate Frisbee Players, The Championship Series Committee overseeing the European Ultimate Championship Series (EUCS) is excited to announce the winner of the bid to host the 2007 European Ultimate Championship Finals (EUCF). After an exhaustive review of the received bids, Freespeed Basel was awarded the tournament. Taken into consideration when awarding the tournament was cost per player, accommodation facilities, excellence of fields and convenience of location. The EUCF will take place on October 5 - 7, 2007. Basel is located in the heart of Western Europe, a convenient place for teams from all over Europe to get to. There are cheap Easy Jet flights to Basel from all over, plus excellent rail connections from France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy to name but a few. Average temperatures range between 8-15 in October, so although it will be cooler than the 2006 EUCFs in Florence, it should be warm enough for excellent game play! We are excited about the 2007 EUCF and hope it will prove as exciting as the 2006 EUCF in Florence which crowned Sweden's Skogshyddan and the UK's Iceni champions! More information about the tournament series will be announced both via emails to national federations, on the Britdisc and Eurodisc list and, of course, on the EUCS website, http://eucs.efdf.org/ Sincerely, The Championship Series Committee for the EUCS
