The Taunton Open (Cup)

This is actually the final stages of a cup competition, possibly the first in the UK, definately the first in Somerset. The qualification round may not happen this year but the finals will be held on this Saturday which is the week after the world championships in Canada.

Current Plan

The 8 teams in the Quarter-finals will be invited to play and teams knocked out at this stage will play each other, so all 8 teams will definately get 3 full games each in the day. The Semi-finals, the 3rd/4th playoff and cup final will also be played on the Saturday and the final will be open to the public for spectators (hopefully free).

Party

There will of course be a party on the Saturday or Friday night!

How to Enter

If you want to play in the qualification round (if it happens) please sign up for the early stages as there is NO ENTRY FEE. The entry fee for the finals on the Saturday is £100 per team and you must be free on the Saturday and willing to pay this entry fee to sign up for the qualification round. 

Teams

Each team may roster upto 14 team members, they MUST be the only players to play for that team in the finals of the competition. Although this may be unpopular, it is required to keep the numbers down for accomodation reasons. If possible, this competition is for OPEN TO ALL!

I am aware that many international competitions have team sizes of 28 and above but this is the first time we are running this event and we are unable to deal with that number of people before we've played this one out for the first year.
