London Calling will kick off the UKU Open & Women's tour 2012 with strong international teams in town as part of their preparations for the World Championships in Japan.

The event is also moving all four divisions to the fantastic UCL playing fields near Jn 22 on the M25 (St Albans). 

Cost

The fee per team will be £190.00

Accommodation

We do have onsite camping.  However the venue is charging us £10 per tent.  The charge is £10 regardless of how many nights.  I.e. if you stay two nights it will work out at £5 per tent per night.  This fee was set by the venue, and they are incurring additional costs as a result of the camping.

We will provide additional updates on whether you can prepay for camping, but there will be an option to pay on arrival.

Catering

Onsite food and bar will also be available throughout (including Saturday evening).

We are looking into the possibility of the venue providing an evening meal on Saturday evening as we hope to stage several show games - including GB Open vs. one of the major international teams, and GB Women v Germany.

Volunteer

As with all large scale tournaments a lot of work goes in behind the scenes to make sure the weekend runs smoothly.  This year we are seeking volunteers to help make sure London Calling goes as well as possible.  Ideally we are looking for people who can help on either/both days of the weekend and possible on Friday afternoon and evening too.

Some of the roles we are looking to fill are below, however if you feel there is something in particular that you might be able to add please let us know.

• Water dispense
• Score collection/Time keeping
• Parking Marshals
• Litter collection
• Site set up

Getting there

Unless you are driving the easiest way to get to the fields if by train to St Albans. We have arranged for a local taxi firm to offer a set price on fares to and from the venue. We will also have tournament staff at the station on Friday night and Saturday morning to help you  with getting to the venue.

Trains Run directly to St Albans from London Kings Cross St Pancras(30min) and London Bridge(40min)
