The British Junior Women's squad is home to the brightest stars of junior women's ultimate frisbee.
This season, we will be selecting teams in two age divisions:

Emily Harrison (August 1991 to October 2007)
The British Junior Women wish to express sincere condolences to the family and friends of Emily Harrison following her unexpected and tragic death. Emily had been a member of Arctic Ultimate in Sutton Coldfield since the clubs inception in 2005, and had trained with the GB junior women last season. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered as somebody who made the most of the opportunities she had.
The British Girls U17 squad is made up from girls born in 1992 or later. In 2008 we will compete in the U17 European Girls Championships held early July (location TBC).

U17 European Championships – (TBC)
Early July
This tournament is the European U17 Junior Women’s Championships (for those born in 1992 or later). In addition, we will be entering an U19 2nd team if there is enough interest from those not selected for Vancouver in February.
The exact location, date, accommodation and facilities of the tournament are still to be confirmed – we will publish this information as and when we receive it from the European Ultimate Frisbee Association.
Both teams will fly out together, supervised by a minimum of 2 coaches.
A selection day for the U17's will be happening on the 12th April (Birmingham, Venue TBC). Please email me at if you are interested in trying out for the squad.
The British U19 squad is made up from girls born in 1989 or later and will consist of two teams for 07/08 season.
The first team will be competing at the World Ultimate Championships in Vancouver (Early August). The seconds will compete in a European tournament if there is enough interest from those who do not make the first team.

GBJW1 – World Championships, Vancouver, Canada
August 3rd – 9th
In the summer of 2008, close to 2000 athletes from over 25 nations will gather in Vancouver, Canada for the WFDF World Ultimate and Guts Championships. Surrounded by the beautiful Pacific Ocean and the spectacular Coast Mountains, all games will be played on lush fields at the University of British Columbia.
The GBJW will be embarking on Canada with the aim to do their very very best. To do this there will be regular trainings sessions where we will be concentrating on playing as one world class team.
The week will consist of games against some very high standard opposition as well as lots of fun activities and things to do. Below is a timetable of the sort of things that will be happening..

GBJW Payment Plan
Below is the payment plan for the GBJW 1st team. Payments must be made on time, any problems with deadlines must be outlined to James well in advance of the specific deadline. Players who just do not pay without explanation will endanger their place on the squad.
Instalment 1: £200 paid by 31st March 2008
Instalment 2: £550 paid by 30th April 2008 (if you are flying with the squad)
Instalment 3: £250-£400 Date TBC

Cath founded the first junior womens team back in 2003 and has now gone on to win her own medals playing for the GB mixed team this summer.

Kev has supported the junior divisions through their infancy for over ten years, and continues to offer us guidance and support as we grow from strength to strength.

Meet the Management:
Gemma Taylor (Squad Manager, Coach and U17 Manager) Gemma is the British Junior Women's Squad Manager and a UKUA qualified coach. She is currently representing British frisbee at senior level playing for the GB Women, as well as playing / coaching for her local midlands team (Mu). If you have any queries regarding the overall running of the team, the U17's or issues with finance / fundraising - please contact Gemma: Gemma.Taylor@ukultimate.com James Hall (Head Coach, Manager of U19 1st Team) James is the British Junior Women's Head Coach. He has been coaching junior sports for 9 years and this is his second year leading the GB Junior womens efforts. James is a qualified coach in a number of sports including Badminton, Basketball, Trampolining and Tennis. He currently plays for his local side in Leeds. She is a qualified teacher currently teaching in Wakefield. Linz currently plays for her local side Leeds ladies. If you have any questions regarding the second team, please contact Linz: linzibo@hotmail.co.uk Amie Channon (Coach + Ex Junior) Amie was the captain of the 2007 U19 British team, winning Gold at Southampton. She is currently training to be a PE teacher in Chichester. Lindsay ‘Cuthers’ Cuthbertson (Coach) Lindsay is currently part of the 2008 British Mixed training squad, hoping to represent Britian at senior level in Vancouver. She has been coaching university ultimate for 5 years and currently plays with her local side Mu in the midlands. Tom Howard (Coach) Tom is a ex junior turned UKUA coach. He has been coaching university ultimate for around 4 years and has been part of the British Junior womens coaching team since 2005. Phil Sturt (Coach + Ex Junior) Phil was part of the 2005 British Junior Womens team, and has since joined us as a qualified coach. she currently plays for Sheffield Steal. Sasi Milmo (Coach) Sasi is an old hand at ultimate who joined the coaching team in 2006. She has coached at university level for many years, and has been playing ultimate for around 7 years. Mara Alperin (Coach) Mara is our resident UPA qualified coach form America. She has been part of the GBJW coaching team since 2005 and is currently living and playing in London.

Q. How long should I have been playing if I want to try out?
A. Any girl of any playing experience is allowed to try out (from absolute beginner onwards...)
Q. Do I need to fill in a consent form for every selection event?
A. No, one consent form will cover all selection and training events within the UK.
Q. Where can I find the consent form?
A. The consent form can be found on the bottom of both the U17 & U19 Selection pages.
Q. What sort of time committment will I need to give to play for GB?
A. The GB U19's will meet after selection around once a month. In addition to that you will need to commit to training for your local team as much as possible. However, schoolwork is always our main priority!
Q. How can I find other players from my area to share lifts with?
