Coaching Scheme

Introduction

The UKU Coaching Awards Program was launched in August 2005 when the first Level 1 course became available. In 2007 we introduced the Leader Award - aimed at non ultimate players.  Creating a network of coaches, and a general culture of coaching across Ultimate in the UK will help to:

  • Support the growing number of players
  • Ensure individuals that want to coach have some sort of structure to support their work and their own development – including teachers and coaches who are new to ultimate
  • Set up basic standards for those providing and receiving Ultimate coaching
  • Improve the standard of Ultimate being played across the UK
  • Support and maintain the Spirit of the Game by making it a key consideration for coaches
