National TeamsThe teams that represent the UK at ultimate are coordinated by the UKUA. These teams continue to play under the name Great Britain (GB) - much as is the case, for example, in athletics. GB players continue to meet virtually all of the costs associated with playing for their country. The Junior squads receive a limited amount of direct funding from the UKUA. We are very grateful to the companies and individuals that sponsor GB teams and/or individuals - their support makes a big difference to our players! There are GB teams in all of the eight divisions that currently exist in international ultimate. The senior divisions are: Women, Open, Mixed, Masters; and the Junior divisions are: Women (U19, U17) and Open (U19, U17). In 2007/8 the Great Britain ultimate squads will compete in the following events: European U17 Girls (Latvia) [Silver] World Ultimate & Guts Championships 2008, Vancouver (Canada) [TBD...] |
