1. Schools Ultimate round-up

In 2012 we are launching a new UKU Schools National Championships Series.  Our goal is to encourage and connect as many school-based Ultimate festivals as we can.  Please take a look at our plans - the programme will be more effective in areas where we are able to connect with local players and clubs.

The Matalan Sporting Promise project is gathering pace.  Thursday 22nd March (this week) will see a public launch for the MSP in Trafalgar Square.

Alongside these initiatives we're delighted to announce that we've teamed up with Frisbee to make getting started with Ultimate Frisbee even cheaper for schools: frisbee@school.

2. AGM Reminder - Sat 24 March

UKU AGM will take place in Cardiff at Mixed Tour 1 on Saturday 24th March.  The meeting will take approx 1-1.5 hours, and will be held in the cafe upstairs in the pavilion.  Start time will be approx 30 mins after the end of the last game.

The formal business of the meeting is the re-election of one board member (who is standing unopposed).  However, the more interesting purpose is to provide a general in-person update on the running of UK Ultimate to interested members.  There is a lot going on...!

You can vote online to re-elect Barry O'Kane to the board in advance of the meeting.  You need to be logged in of course because only full members are entitled to vote.

7. GB Ultimate kit and accessories

Lookfly sponsors GB Ultimate and has a great range of GB Ultimate kit and accessories.  These items are available for general sale here.  Lookfly donates a proportion of sales towards the GB programme, which can help us support our teams and players more effectively.
GB players please note that you order your kit from a different link.  Players going to Japan have already received the details.  Players going to Dublin will receive the information they need to order before the end of the month.  NB - GB players going to Japan or Dublin should NOT order their kit through the above general link, and should use the GB-player shop link that they will receive soon if not already.

8. www.ukultimate.com - help needed

We are trying to form a new website team to help take over the maintenance of the UKU website.  Following requests for help earlier this month, we've had a few people offer some help, but if we can increase the size of the team we stand a really good chance of making this work.  Currently we rely on a single individual (based in New Zealand) for updates and maintenance (thanks Andrew!) - but he would really like to hand it over.  We have no plans for a major overhaul at this point - but there are plenty of areas of the site that could do with some love and attention.

The website is based on drupal - so in particular we'd love to hear from you if you have some experience of working with drupal.

If you think you can help - or to find out more - please get in touch.
