1. Ultimatum!2009

Ultimatum!2009 will be sent in January and will include a free copy of Push Pass UKU Open Nationals DVD featuring Clapham vs. Fire, plus the XEUCF 2009 Women's final betwen Iceni and Leeds.

To receive Ultimatum!2009 you need to have valid* membership on 31st Dec 2009.  We will be using contact details held on the site on that date.

Please please please check your address details on the UKU website.  To do this:

1. Login

2. Click on "my account" on the left hand side

3. Select the EDIT tab to make any changes. 

Every year we are unable to send Ultimatum! to many members who eligible to receive it, due to missing or incomplete contact data.  Please check for missing house name/number in particular!

* Valid membership types are Full, Uni/U18 Full, Young and Ultimatum membership.

2. UKU Level 1 Coaching Course - Bristol, Sat 16th Jan 2010

There are still a few places left on this coaching course.  Please look at the event page for more details and for a link to the online application form.  Some places were reserved for a group of students at University of Bristol.  Remaining places are first-come, first-served.

3. UKU Mixed Indoor Nationals 2010 - Coventry, 20-21 Feb 2010

UKU are hosting the club mixed indoor championships this winter at the Alan Higgs centre in Coventry.  This venue has two large courts on a 3G rubber crumb surface.  In the last two years it has been used very successfully for Open Indoor Nationals, Uni Indoor Nationals and GB World Games squad winter trials. 4. WFDF Under-23 World Championships 2010

We have not been told officially, but it appears increasingly likely that 2010 will see the first WFDF Under-23 World Ultimate Championships.  If it goes ahead we expect the event will be held in Europe - probably in late July - and we will be planning to send teams in the Open, Women and Mixed divisions.

Once the event is formally confirmed by WFDF we will send more information as quickly as we can as no doubt this could have an impact on plans for many players, teams and tournament organisers.  If it does happen we will issue a request for applications to run each squad (non-players preferred but not required).  We will need to move quickly so this note is intended to get people thinking about it now.

We are expecting that to be eligible to play you will need to have been born in 1987 or later.

5. Can you help please?

As with so many sports, ultimate relies heavily on volunteers to help make things happen and move the sport forward.  We've recognised that it can be difficult for people to identify areas where UKU is looking for help - so we recently created this page.  For example the list currently includes:

- Short project to work on UKU application for recognition from Sports Councils

- Artwork/design projects on UKU and GB Ultimate logos/brand and materials for exhibitions and demonstration events.

- GCSE assessment criteria - to make ultimate available within GCSE PE.

- Improved use of Facebook and Twitter

- Update and improve Getting Started materials for new players and clubs.
