There is no free accommodation, however, there are currently some good deals at around £30 per room.  Be warned though, Manchester City are home that weekend so it is recommended to book sooner rather than later.

The postcode for the actual venue does not work correctly so please use M23 0DT for an approximate location. Below are a number of websites that may be useful:

http://www.visitmanchester.com/stay (use Manchester Airport for searches)

http://www.travelodge.co.uk (use Manchester Airport for searches)

http://www.premierinn.com/en/ (use M23 0DT for searches)

http://www.britanniahotels.com/ (use Manchester for searches)

Taxi: Taxis from the airport and Manchester and Stockport stations should be approx. £15.

UKU U17 Open Indoor Nationals 2012-13

Submitted by Si Hill on Tue, 18/12/2012 - 7:47pm
Event date:
26 Jan 2013 - 08:00 - 27 Jan 2013 - 18:00
Event details:

Following successful U20 and U17 Indoor tournaments over recent years, the UKU Under-17 Open Indoor Championships 2013 will be held at Aldersley Leisure Village, Wolverhampton (WV6 9NW) on the weekend of Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th January 2013. There are 4 good size halls and there is balcony space and a cafe/bar onsite, as well as supermarkets nearby.

Lookfly are going to have a merchandise stall at the tournament - likely to be Saturday only.

To be eligible to play you must be in Year 11 or below, born on or after 1st September 1996 (the rules for UK Domestic competition differ slightly to International competition; to be eligible to play for GB Under 17s in 2013 you need to be born on or after 1st January 1997. Please contact (kev_lowe@hotmail.com if there are any queries). If you are a player or a small group of players without enough for a full team, then it may be possible to arrange for you to join up with another team; everyone involved in Junior Ultimate wants you there. HOWEVER you must explain your situation to the Junior Forum (email to: kev_lowe@hotmail.com is sufficient) and have them ratify which is the most appropriate team for you to join with. There have been a few issues in recent years with combinations of players/teams that have not been checked or verified appropriately; please be organised, up front, and go through the correct systems.

I am hoping that the central location will mean that the majority of teams might be able to travel home rather than needing accommodation on the Saturday night, but I recognise that for some of you that won't be possible. Obviously you are free to organise your own plans, and places like www.travelodge.co.uk (and there are a number around the motorways or Wolverhampton!) often have good deals (e.g. family rooms which could sleep 4 from £19 per night), and there are a smattering of Youth Hostels in Staffordshire (www.yha.org.uk).

There is the potential for a bit of floorspace on the Saturday night at a local church for any teams which may find that helpful.

The cost of the tournament is to £75 per team. If you want to come YOU MUST FILL IN THE FORM FOUND AT THIS LINK

Payment details will be sent to you by email once you have filled in the form. If your school require an invoice in order to make the payment, please make this clear on the web entry form and provide any additional details that will be needed.

We expect payment by Friday 11th January (after which the schedule will be written) to confirm you place at the event. Please get in touch if the payment process means you expect to miss the date. This will be fine but please get in touch to make sure we know about it.

Accomodation and transport:

There is no free on-site camping at this venue - but there are plenty of the usual hotels in the area.

There is also a nearby campsite here: http://www.nwscnotts.com/accommodation/campsite/

Nottingham is roughly 2.5, 3 and 5 hours drive from London, Cardiff and Edinburgh, respectively, with 80% of the UK within 2 hours’ reach of the city.
Nottingham is best accessed from the M1 for the majority of the country, or via the M5 & M42 for those travelling from the West. Whether taking the M1 for long distances, or joining it at the end of the M42 or M6, your best bet is to exit at Junction 24 (regardless of being Southbound or Northbound), onto the A453.

Follow this road along the River Trent for around 10 miles, before reaching the A52 (Clifton Boulevard), take this until a roundabout, taking the first exit onto Lenton Lane.

Stay on Lenton Lane right to the end, turning right into the venue, where staff will guide you to the parking area.

The Riverside Golf Centre is not part of the Tour venue.

For more detailed information regarding transport, particularly local transport options when in Nottingham, please see the guide attached to this page below.
