Transport

For more detailed information regarding transport, particularly local transport options when in Nottingham, please see the guide attached to this page below.

Nottingham is roughly 2.5, 3 and 5 hours drive from London, Cardiff and Edinburgh, respectively, with 80% of the UK within 2 hours’ reach of the city.
Nottingham is best accessed from the M1 for the majority of the country, or via the M5 & M42 for those travelling from the West. Whether taking the M1 for long distances, or joining it at the end of the M42 or M6, your best bet is to exit at Junction 24 (regardless of being Southbound or Northbound), onto the A453.

Follow this road along the River Trent for around 10 miles, before reaching the A52 (Clifton Boulevard), take this until a roundabout, taking the first exit onto Lenton Lane.

Stay on Lenton Lane right to the end, turning right into the venue, where staff will guide you to the parking area.

The Riverside Golf Centre is not part of the Tour venue.

UKU Mixed Tour 3 2014

Submitted by see_jay_bee on Mon, 13/01/2014 - 5:00pm
Event date:
10 May 2014 - 09:00 - 11 May 2014 - 18:00
Event details:

UKU Mixed Tour 3 is back again for it's 4th year at Bishops Cleeve Footbal club.

We'll be around from Friday evening setting the club house up and then ready to go first thing on Saturday morning. The event will run all day on Saturday which we hope to include a show game around 5pm -ish where the bargain curry will be available again! Please advise your numbers for this prior to the event so that we can confirm with the venue. This will be paid for by you on the day, but it would be good to at least get an idea of numbers so we don't over/under cater.

The final should be completed by around 5 on sunday so hopefully you'll all be home in time for some well earned food and rest.

There will be a party on Saturday night where 'Hogan's Roadshow' will re-appear to keep the party going with some choice karaoke from you all!!

We need to ask though that you don't bring your own food and drink into the club house. Prices there are very reasonable and in previous years it's been rather embarassing having to tell the minority to respect the club and consume your own stuff in your tents or offsite.

Looking forwards to seeing you all again for another great tournament. Any questions to the tournament e-mail address: baftour@yahoo.com

How to register:

Please e-mail your teams entry which must include team name, contact person (name, mobile number and e-mail address), how many teams entering, how many will be camping and a rough idea of how many will be going for the curry. We will then send on the bank details to make payment to.

Accomodation and transport:

Free on site camping at BCFC is available, from friday night with plenty of room.  Shower block and toilets will be available all day and throughout the night.

Cheltenham has lots of hotels and B&B's which can be found on the web. In terms of location, the nearest village is called Bishops Cleeve, where there are a few take aways - the chippy is pretty good and a good size tesco's with a Costa coffee inside.

Please bring:

Happy smiling faces and a desire to win!

Those that are camping, bring all your camping stuff!

Be prepared for all weathers as it can be pretty windy and it can blow in all kinds of weather.

Please do note these links for the Spirit scoring form:

http://goo.gl/UKspdV

and for the schedule (which you should be able to view on your phones or other devices, or print in advance - we don't intend to print a copy for the teams, though of course there will be a large copy at the TD desk):

http://goo.gl/rWaoFP

Please as ever let us know if you see any errors - it should all be fine, but you never know!

Please also make sure to follow @UKUltimateEvent on Twitter - this will be the main method of communicating any changes (e.g. pitches being out of action, changes to cap rules etc.)

If you don't have easy access to twitter (and no-one on your team does either?) then you'll have to pop by the TD desk regularly - we will of course display any changes there, but it's clearly not possible to communicate personally with all the players at these large tournaments.

PDF versions of these documents, and the pitch map, can be found at the bottom of this page.

*********************

The following teams have been selected to submit full details of their roster for MT2 - i.e. the names of the players that are competing for them at Mixed Tour 2.

Bristol Mixed

Brighton Breezy

BAF

BAM

Black Eagles

Leamington

Brizzle Kicks

Curve

Bournemouth Heat

Glue Factory

Following some concerns raised after Indoor Nationals we have decided to take some extra steps to check that players at Mixed Tour have the appropriate membership status.  All UK-resident (*) players at the tournament must have full UKU membership - see this link for more details

There are two possible methods and it should be done by emailing admin@ukultimate.com as soon as possible but at the latest by end of Saturday 12th.

1. Send a list or spreadsheet with the full names and email address for each player by email to admin@ukultimate.com.  If you are able to easily include the UKU username that is helpful, but not required.

Or

2. You may refer to the team roster list on the UKU website by confirming that the online list does include ALL players who will be at MT2, and identifying by name any non-member on the list that is NOT playing MT2.

If you realise that not all the players in the list are members please indicate that you have already reminded them so that they can fix the situation in time for the tournament.

Please be aware that your team may be approached this weekend so that a Competition Committee volunteer or UKU member of staff can compare the team list with those players on the field.

(*) UK resident for these purposes means someone that is living (i.e. has an address) in the UK.  It would include a student on a course for a term or semester for example.  Players that are just visiting for the weekend from another country do not necessarily need to join UKU but must have liability insurance - perhaps as a result of membership of their home federation.

UKU Mixed Tour 1 - 2014 will be held in Cardiff. With details now finalised we can expect a similar event to last year; great pitches, great venue, free onsite camping, free onsite party, highest standard medical provision and good food options at the venue run by our friendly and enthusiastic staff.

This year we will be running a paperless tournament with everything you should need available online. The player information pack can already be found attached, with the schedule soon to follow once confirmed by the UKU.

----Once available, the post Saturday seedings will also be made available on the website----

As part of our paperless initiative you will also be able/required to submit your game and spirit scores using the form that can be found here (http://goo.gl/v9W7s9). Please ensure this is done after every game to ensure your fellow players can get up to date information from the TD desk and to ensure the tournament continues to run smoothly. On the form you will also find a link taking you directly to the WFDF help sheet on how to complete your spirit scores.

There will be the usual schedule information available at the TD desk as well as details on how to access the form. There will also be QR (Quick Response) codes dotted around the venue which will link directly to the score submission form.

Please also ensure you have a players pass to access the venue. The pass can be found attached and saved to your smartphone or printed if you prefer.

Captain's Pack

Schedule v1-0

************

The UKU Under-17 and Under-14 Open Indoor Championships 2014 will be held at Aldersley Leisure Village, Wolverhampton (WV6 9NW) on the weekend of Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th January 2014. There are 4 good size halls and there is balcony space and a cafe/bar onsite, as well as supermarkets nearby.

Please use the online entry form but do check the details below.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this UKU under-17 division you must be in Year 11 or below, born on or after 1st September 1997 (the rules for UK Domestic competition differ slightly to International competition).

To be eligible for the under-14 division you must be in Year 8 or below, born on or after 1st Sept 2000.

Please contact Kevin Lowe (kev_lowe@hotmail.com if there are any queries).

If you are a player or a small group of players without enough for a full team, then it may be possible to arrange for you to join up with another team; everyone involved in Junior Ultimate wants you there. HOWEVER you must explain your situation to the Junior Forum (email to: kev_lowe@hotmail.com is sufficient) and have them ratify which is the most appropriate team for you to join with. There have been a few issues in recent years with combinations of players/teams that have not been checked or verified appropriately; please be organised, up front, and go through the correct systems.

Accommodation

Hopefully the central location will mean that the majority of teams might be able to travel home rather than needing accommodation on the Saturday night, but for some of you that clearly won't be possible. Obviously you are free to organise your own plans, and places like www.travelodge.co.uk (and there are a number around the motorways or Wolverhampton!) often have good deals (e.g. family rooms which could sleep 4 from £19 per night), and there are a smattering of Youth Hostels in Staffordshire (www.yha.org.uk).

There is the potential for a bit of floorspace on the Saturday night at a local church hall if needed.

Entry and payment

The cost of the tournament is to £75 per team. If you want to come YOU MUST FILL IN THE FORM FOUND AT THIS LINK

Payment details will be sent to you by email once you have filled in the form. If your school require an invoice in order to make the payment, please make this clear on the web entry form and provide any additional details that will be needed.

We expect payment by Friday 10th January (after which the schedule will be written) to confirm your place at the event. Please get in touch if the payment process means you expect to miss the date. This will be fine but please get in touch to make sure we know about it.

Please also bear in mind that we may need to limit the number of teams per school as this event continues to grow.  We are not setting a limit up-front, but will need to monitor the situation as entries come in.  You can help us with this by getting your entries done sooner rather than later.  Thanks.
