Here at JMMHT:HQ we're super excited to announce the return of the Jeremy Moore Memorial Hat Tournament on the 25th of May in Exmouth.

As with previous years; it's a one day hat tournament held on Exmouth beach, followed by a party in Exeter in the evening. Anyone is welcome to attend, with all levels and abilities, and in true hat style, names are picked from a hat and split as evenly as possible.
We will endeavour to provide accommodation for the Friday and Saturday night, so if you're interested have a look at www.jmmht20.com or simply reply to this email if you have any further questions.
And hopefully see you at the beach...

Sunburn is back again in June 2019!

As always, expect a weekend of beach Frisbee on the golden sands of one of the UK's finest beaches - featuring a big Frisbee party on the Saturday night! The tournament is ran by Bournemouth Heat (University Ultimate Frisbee Team), in conjunction with SportBU (the University Sports department). There will be plenty of between-game entertainment and a sound system booming our playlist across the pitches from the tournament HQ - so expect a great atmosphere throughout!.

In case you don’t know, beach ultimate is played 5-a-side according to the BULA version of WFDF’s rules. This year (like last) will be a 20-team, Open division tournament (though plenty of teams bring squads that are closer to a Mixed division ratio).

Registration is open as of 14th March and will close on April 5th (at midnight)

The section of the beach that we will be playing on is a 20 minute walk from Exmouth Station, if you are catching the train and we would highly suggest giving a shout-out on the Facebook event as it is quite likely there will be others planning on taking your train and it’s always nice to walk with friends.

There is also a pay and display car park over the road if you are planning on driving.

Event details:

Beach Nationals will be held on Sandbanks beach on the 16th and 17th of September 2017 hosted by Bournemouth University and Sunburn Beach Tournament committee.

The INFO PACK and SCHEDULE can be found as PDFs at the bottom of this page.

The live schedule can be accessed here: https://goo.gl/aDpT7r

Beach Nationals 2017 is now open for registration.  These will be held on the 16th and 17th September on Sandbanks beach, the same location as last year's competition.  Please read on or look here for more information.

The planned format is a three division, 8-team tournament for Open, Women’s, and Mixed. However, if there are insufficient entries for a particular division then it may not go ahead, and another division expanded according to demand. This decision will be made once the closing date has passed. Please note that accommodation is not available for this tournament, so consider this in your planning when arranging a team. The deadline for submitting a team is Thursday 10th August. After this date, if over-subscribed, the entry rules will be applied to teams as outlined below. Selected teams will be required to make payment of £160, which will be detailed in their confirmation email.

ENTRY RULES

For tournaments that are over-subscribed at the closing date the following rules will apply, in order:

- Teams from clubs who have completed Club Affiliation to the UKU will have priority over those who have not

 - Teams not on the blacklist (for late dropouts at previous events) will get priority over those who are

 - Teams finishing in the top 1/3 of the same event in the previous year*

- Teams finishing in the top 1/3 of places in any 2017 beach tournament*

 Additional notes:

First teams will NOT get priority over second teams - it is so easy to simply change the name of a 'second team' to avoid such a rule, which would disadvantage those 'proper' clubs who have a real identity.

If spaces remain after the closing date, teams will be awarded spaces based on the order of DATE (not exact time) that payment was sent. This will be assumed to be the date payment was received unless there is additional information (e.g. screenshot of transfer, postmark on stamp etc.)

If there remain too many teams - which cannot be separated by the above - for the remaining places, a lottery will be run for ONLY those inseparable teams, for those places.

*We're obviously not able to check that your roster is sufficiently related to the roster for that previous tournament under the same name - but we expect teams to apply some SotG to that.
