Event date:
30 Nov 2019 (All day) - 1 Dec 2019 (All day)
Event details:

UXIN Div 1 & 2 will be held on this date in two different locations.

Div 2 - Alan Higgs, Coventry

To attend this event you MUST qualify through University Mixed Indoor Regionals.

EVENT WEBSITEhttps://sites.google.com/ukultimate.com/uxin2019-20/home

If you DO NOT want to take up your qualifying spot from UXIR then you must let us know by TUESDAY 29th OCTOBER following the tournament, otherwise you may be liable to pay the full team fee. Please consider the chances of you playing at UXIN over the weekend of regionals if you anticipate you have a chance of qualifying. We understand that there is not long to decide, however, there is a very short space of time before the National competition and we need to have enough time to find a replacement team if you do not wish to play.

UXIN ENTRIES OPEN: 29th October - 7th November (Enter via UKU GoMembership Portal)

Keep an eye out on the Facebook regional pages for updates, reminders and info on how to enter using the new entry process.

UKU/BUCS Indoors Entry Rules

BUCS Regionals (Open/Women - see additional rules for Mixed below)

The closing date and payment date will be as announced by BUCS (to your Uni) and on our UKU event pages. BUCS will NOT accept late entries - no exceptions. It may be possible for us to institute a second round of entries after the first deadline has passed if the tournaments are undersubscribed, but these will be charged (by BUCS) at 20% over the initial price - and we cannot in any way guarantee to make space for teams who have missed the BUCS deadlines. Don't mess this up!

For tournaments that are over-subscribed at the closing date the following rules will apply, in order:

·         First teams will get priority over second teams, and second over third etc.

·         If there is insufficient room for all first teams, places will be awarded in the following order:

o   First teams finishing in the top half of the previous year’s tournament

o   First teams who didn’t enter the previous year’s tournament

o   Remaining first teams in order of their finishing position last year

·         If there are spaces remaining after all first teams have been awarded a space, second teams will be offered places in an order based on finishing position last year, and then third teams and so on

o   Second teams with no finishing position from last year will have a lower priority than those who attended – but still above all third teams (and so on)

If the cut-off happens to fall between 2 or more teams with no finishing position from last year, a lottery will be run between those teams to determine entry.

BUCS Nationals

The closing date and payment date will be as announced by BUCS. Entry is guaranteed for all qualifying teams provided they meet this deadline.

Should any teams fail to take up their spots, the places will be filled by the next-ranked team from one of the qualifying tournaments, with priority among regions determined according to the following (in order):

1.       The region(s) not yet offered an extra place under this process which had the fewest qualification spots originally

2.       The region from which the team dropped out

3.       The strongest regions, i.e.

a.       for Division 1, the region with the highest-ranked relegated team last year – but note that rule 1 means we ignore teams from regions already awarded a dropout-spot.

b.      for Division 2, the region with the highest average finishing position in Division 2 the previous year

c.       for Women’s, the region with the highest average finishing position last year.

4.       A lottery between regions that cannot be separated by the above

Mixed

Rules will be the same as for BUCS tournaments, with the following additions:

Late entries may be accepted, providing that they improve the schedule for others. We will not allow late entries which make the numbers worse.

·         Single-institution teams at a given level (e.g. 1st, 2nd etc) will have priority entry at regionals over any teams at the same level who have players from more than one institution.

·         UKU reserve the right to move clubs to a blacklist if any of their teams default from any UKU University tournament at late notice.

o   Blacklisted 1st teams will only get into non-BUCS tournaments if there is space for all 1st teams; 2nd/3rd/4th teams from blacklisted clubs will only get a space if the tournament is undersubscribed – i.e. someone else’s 4th team will get in ahead of your 2nd team.

UKU Junior Mixed Outdoor Nationals 2019-20

Event date:
5 Oct 2019 (All day)
Event details:

Schedule: https://bit.ly/2nY5tO3

Info Pack: https://bit.ly/2o9Anmn

We are pleased to announce that UK Ultimate will be holding our first ever UKU Junior Mixed Outdoor Nationals event on Saturday 5th October 2019. This will be a ONE DAY event, held at St Bede's Catholic College, Long Cross, Bristol.

This event will be played according to the specifications used at the International School Sports Federation's Ultimate World Schools Championships event:

- 5-a-side

- reduced size pitches (66m x 24m; 12m endzones)

- 2-3 gender split on pitch at all times

However, game duration will be varied by age category.

As this is the first year that we have offered this event, we strongly advise against booking any non-cancellable accommodation or transport until we are able to confirm the viability of the event and each of the divisions. We expect to be able to provide updates on this prior to the entry deadline, but no team's place at the tournament is guaranteed unless officially confirmed by UK Ultimate.

All teams must be mixed gender and able to conform to the required gender split throughout the tournament. Please ensure that you have sufficient players of both genders available before making your entry. Single gender schools interested in attending should contact us on events@ukultimate.com, so that we can try to match you to a suitable school of the opposite gender to enter a combined team.

We are aware that it can be tricky to organise logistics for something like this, especially with the timing of this event close to the summer holidays and as a new event to the calendar. We want to see as many of you there as possible, so please get in touch on events@ukultimate.com if you have any questions at all, or are struggling to meet the entry deadlines, please get in touch so that we can help you out and account for you in our planning.

Entry is via GoMembership. Click HERE to be taken to the event booking page.

Membership/Affiliation requirements:

Players playing for UKU-affiliated schools playing as school teams are not required to have membership.

All other players must have minimum Basic Membership of UK Ultimate.

Team sizes and planning:

Clubs must ensure that they have appropriate levels of adult supervision in place for the event.

Based on past experience please note that you should not enter a team unless you have at least 8 fit players (4 of each gender) able to travel, though more than this is recommended.

We also strongly recommend that teams plan to have a non-playing adult travelling with the team. There have been instances where small teams have had an injury, and a second player has had to accompany the injured player to hospital, leaving behind a team that is too small to continue. This not only spoils the tournament for the team concerned, but also for their opposition who have travelled and paid to play games, only to find they have a walkover - not ideal for anyone.

Need a team?

If you are a player or a small group of players without enough for a full team, then it may be possible to arrange for you to join up with another team; everyone involved in Junior Ultimate wants you there. HOWEVER you must explain your situation by emailing events@ukultimate.com and have UKU ratify which is the most appropriate team for you to join with. Where possible, players are linked up with players from a similar geographical area.

Multiple-teams:

Clubs/schools are welcome to enter more than one team. We don't anticipate having to limit the number of teams attending this event, but in the event that the tournament becomes oversubscribed, clubs entering multiple additional teams may find lower ranked teams placed on a waiting list.

UKU Junior (U20) Outdoor Nationals & Schools National Championships 2018-19

Submitted by Ant on Tue, 19/02/2019 - 7:57pm
Event date:
30 Jun 2019 (All day)
Event details:

We are pleased to announce that UKU Junior (U20) Outdoor Nationals & Schools National Championships 2018-19 will be a one day event held at the University of Leicester Playing Fields, Stoughton Road on Sunday 30th June 2019.

Junior Nationals is played 7-a-side (full-size pitches)

UKU Schools National Championship Finals is played 5-a-side (reduced size pitches)

All events are Open divisions (i.e. no restrictions on gender) - there's nothing to prevent either an all-male or all-female team, or anywhere in between. A large percentage of teams will be mixed gender, so bring whatever mix of players you like!

We are of course aware that it can be tricky to organise logistics for something like this, but we'd love to have as many of you there as possible, so do please get in touch on the email below with any questions at all and we'll do what we can to help you make it happen.

Entry is through GoMembership. Click HERE to be taken to the event booking page.

JUNIOR NATIONALS

Player Eligibility: Born on or after 1st Jan 2000

Membership/Affiliation requirements:

Players playing for UKU-affiliated schools playing as school teams are not required to have membership.

All other players must have minimum Basic Membership of UK Ultimate.

Team sizes and planning:

Clubs must ensure that they have appropriate levels of adult supervision in place for the event.

Based on past experience please note that you should not enter a team unless you have at least 10 fit players able to travel.

HOWEVER you must explain your situation by emailing admin[at]ukultimate.com and have UKU ratify which is the most appropriate team for you to join with. UKU SCHOOLS CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS

Player Eligibility: We expect to run 2 divisions.

For the Y11 Division, all players must be in Year 11 or lower.

For the Y8 Division, all players must be in Year 8 or lower.

Team Eligibility:

All teams must be strictly school teams.  In the future we expect all teams will have to qualify through local qualification events.  For the time being, all school teams that wish to enter will be considered eligible.

Given that we are still not at the stage of having numerous regional qualifiers, for now we WILL accept multiple entries from one school (only if there is room of course - priority always given to 1st teams). This should NOT be taken to mean that this will always be possible in the future, but for now we see no benefit in turning teams away.

Membership/Affiliation requirements:

Players do not need individual membership provided the school is UKU-affiliated. Please contact admin[at]ukultimate.com for more information on Schools Affiliation.

Team sizes and planning:

RULES: Please remember this is a 5-a-side competition played to the “UKU-Schools” adapted rules with smaller playing area, and relatively short games.  Exact game-lengths and tournament format will depend on the number of teams that enter.

UKU University Mixed Outdoor Cool Down 2018/19

Submitted by megprice on Fri, 30/11/2018 - 12:24pm
Event date:
16 Mar 2019 (All day) - 17 Mar 2019 (All day)
Event details:

Following the announcement that University Mixed Outdoor Nationals (UXON) will be held in St Andrews (Scotland) this year, we are pleased to confirm that the smaller, more limited event - the University Mixed Outdoor Cool Down - will be held at the Llanrumney Playing Fields in Cardiff on the same weekend, 16th-17th March 2019.

UPDATE 15th MARCH

The event will be going ahead as planned and the schedule has now been published. Further details can be found HERE. Please make sure that you read the full announcement and keep an eye out for any further updates.

UPDATE 14th MARCH

Unfortunately, due to unforeseeable issues with the Leaguevine website, we are unable to use the Swiss Draw format for this year's event. We are in the process of finalising the schedule for the weekend. However, due to the recent weather and with the forecast for the weekend, we are also in the difficult position of not knowing whether or not we will have the full number of fields that we booked or if the event will even go ahead.

ALL teams need to continue to assume and plan for the possibility that they are playing in the first gameslot at 9am.

We will inform you of any updates as soon as we can. Please keep an eye out on the UKU website, @UKUltimateEvent Twitter page, the Regional Facebook Groups for updates.

Info Pack: https://goo.gl/KRqSbz

Spirit Linkhttps://goo.gl/LHNsAS

Schedule: https://goo.gl/pLdpX9

We want to be very clear that UXON is in St Andrews, and we do encourage all teams to make the journey - particularly given that the event was unfortunately snowed off last year and that we aim to hold UXON in the South in 2020. The event details for that competition can be found HERE. However, there is limited capacity at the Cool Down event for those that would not be able to play otherwise.

Please note, if the Cool Down is oversubscribed, teams will be awarded a spot based on their proximity to the southern venue combined with the distance from St Andrews.

Entries for both UXON and the Cool Down open on Tuesday 11th December on the UKU GoMembership portal and will close on Thursday 10th January. More information will be published closer to the time on the UKU regional Facebook groups.

Please note that if you are entered as of the entry closing date, you WILL BE LIABLE for the fees, even if you drop out afterwards. We MAY accept entries after that date if there is room, but only if it happens to make the numbers better for scheduling.

Contact email:
How to register:

Using the UKU GoMembership portal.

Accomodation and transport:

Accommodation help will be provided by Cardiff University. More information, including how to request accommodation space, will be posted on the Regional Facebook groups closer to the event. Please keep an eye out on the relevant groups for details.
