Event date:
20 Jun 2015 - 09:00 - 21 Jun 2015 - 17:00
Event details:

London Calling forms the second round of the UKU Tour for the Open and Women's divisions.  We also regularly welcome the very best Open and Women's teams from outside the UK to this event.

In 2012, we moved to the fantastic fields at UCL Sports Ground at Shenley nr St Albans on the outskirts of London. This excellent venue will host WFDF World U23s later in the summer (and WUGC next year!), has space for 30 great fields, and is conveniently located for all of the London airports (Luton is closest).

We are also delighted to announce that merchandising (and of course fun!) will be provided this year by our official London Calling partners Five Ultimate!

To make sure you don't miss any updates, follow @UKUltimateEvent and https://www.facebook.com/ukultimate

For international teams: in order that teams can have their places confirmed, and make the necessary travel arrangements, the initial closing date was 28th February and the successful teams have been informed. However if you would still like to come, do please get in touch - we may still be able to make space for you!

For UK teams,  the closing date and payment date will be 28 days in advance of the event - Friday 22nd May. After this date, places will be awarded. Places may still be available later on a first-come first-served basis if the tournament is under-subscribed, but no team - no matter how strong - would be guaranteed entry.

Please note also that teams who pull out after the closing date will be liable for 50% of the fees, and those who pull out in the last fortnight (after 15th May) will be liable for the full team fee.

Please note the following rules governing who is awarded a spot if the tournament is oversubscribed at the closing date:

Open

4.2.1.2 At Tours 2 and 3, priority will be given as follows:
•    Teams ranked in the top 32 of the previous tournament.
•    Foreign teams believed likely by the competitions committee to finish in the top 24.
•    Teams whose participation the UKU Competitions Committee believe will benefit the growth of Ultimate – for example, but not limited to, local teams who may not yet be ready to travel to other tournaments, or teams based in underrepresented geographical areas.
•    Teams unable to enter the previous event due to over-subscription or non-entry.
•    Remaining teams, in order of their finish at the previous tournament.

Women

4.2.2.1 In 2015 we intend to allow all teams to enter provided they do so before the deadline. If that number exceeds 24 teams, we may move to a system where places are allocated as follows:
•    Teams ranked in the top 12 of the previous tournament (or the previous year overall, for T1).
•    Foreign teams believed likely by the competitions committee to finish in the top 8.
•    Teams unable to enter the previous event due to over-subscription or non-entry (Tours 2 & 3 only).
•    Teams whose participation the UKU Competitions Committee believe will benefit the growth of Ultimate – for example, but not limited to, local teams who may not yet be ready to travel to other tournaments, or teams based in underrepresented geographical areas.
•    Remaining teams, in order of their finish at the previous tournament

A final word from Ireland's Mark Earley, writing on Get Horizontal:

"As someone who has attended Tour in it’s various guises for over a decade now it never cease to impress for a number of reasons. Firstly the quality of opposition, the number of teams in attendance and the depth of talent in the UK is consistently amazing."

"I’ve played at Worlds, Euros and all across the world and I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a high standard of pitches. They were flat, watered, freshly cut and stood up to the 94 teams playing on them in hot weather. Don’t miss out on playing on it next year!"
