Introduction to UKU Safeguarding Committee and launch of the new Safeguarding Pack for Clubs

“Playing, coaching and participating safely”

In the past few years we have seen an increase in the number of clubs engaging with youth players or making future plans to work with under 18s. Clubs have been coming to UK Ultimate for advice and support, which we have supplied on an ad hoc basis. With an increase in these requests we decided to review our safeguarding policy and information, including a new safeguarding pack of starting-point documents for clubs.

Merry Christmas from UKU

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to one and all.

We're operating a reduced staff over the Christmas holidays so if you get in touch with us we may not see your message straight away. We'll endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible and if you have an urgent issue please call us on 0844 8045949.

FIND A TEAM: Submit your Club details!

The UKU Women's Committee have relaunched the Find A Team initiative for the 2019 season, and need as many Women's and Mixed clubs to submit their details! The initiative is a push to ensure more women are aware of Club opportunities. We will use the data to create a directory and map which will help players look for nearby teams, contact details and any useful information they need in one place.

There will be separate entry allocation criteria for the different tiered events to ensure that the different types of event cater for the different types of player base.

Entries for Y Ddraig Goch (The Red Dragon - 30-31 March) & Nottingham Windfarm (1-2 June) Open in the New Year with NEW Event Entry Procedure!

Introducing the new name for our largest Mixed event of the year, being held at the Llanrumney Playing Fields in Cardiff on 30th-31st March 2019 - Y Ddraig Goch (The Red Dragon)! Check out the new event website HERE.

You’ll also be able to find the most up to date information for Nottingham Windfarm 2019 HERE!

Entries for BOTH events open early in the New Year on 9th January 2019 - but make sure that you read the NEW club outdoor event entry procedure first (link below) as it includes important information about how the entry process will work with the new competition structure, as well as what happens if any of the events are oversubscribed. It might seem quite complicated as there are a lot of “if”s and “maybe”s included, but hopefully the document will answer any major queries that you might have as you read through it.
