U17 and U14 Indoor Nationals gets bigger and better

Last weekend saw 24 teams compete in the U17 (year 11 and below) division and a further 15 teams competed in the U14 (year 8 and below) division. It was great to see a record number of young players competing, and as usual, the standard is improving year on year. Winners in both divisions come from Devon: congratulations to Exeter's Airbadgers (u17) and also Plymouth's Devonport High School for Boys (u14) who were playing their first ever tournament!

GB JUNIOR ULTIMATE TEAMS 2018

Enormous thanks in advance to the team that will be managing and coaching the GB Junior squads in 2013-14.  Whilst we have filled the main roles across all four squads, we still need additional assistant/guest coaches to join some of the training sessions.  If you think you might be interested please click here for more details.

Dundee Uni Double

On 1-2 Dec 2012, Cardiff saw the best 20 University Women's teams in the country battle it out for the coveted national title. Dundee showed their class in a very competitive final to take the title from fellow Scots, Aberdeen. UCL romped away with the Spirit prize and also managed to snag the Plate too. Cambridge hoovered up the Spoon.  Dundee have now claimed both of the University Championships that have been completed so far in the 2012-13 season.  Will they make it three out of three by winning the Mixed division in Feb 2013...?

1. Dundee (10) - Champions

2. Aberdeen (11.6)

3. Cork (10.6)

9. UCL (15.4) - Plate and Spirit Winners

Dundee wins University Indoors

Dundee claimed their first BUCS/UKU University Indoor Nationals title on 24-25 November 2012.  The event took place at the Alan Higgs centre in Coventry and the competition was tighter than ever with one of the first round pools finishing in reverse order of seeding.  Manchester Halcyon had to settle for silver medals for the second year running after a close final that saw momentum swinging back and forth - and was also marked by a fine display of Spirit from both teams.  Congratulations to Cardiff for winning the Spirit of the Game.  Full placings and sotg scores here.

UK teams dominate European Club Finals 2012

IceniUK teams finished the 2012 outdoor season in style with Iceni retaining their Women's European title, and Clapham winning the Open division for the first time since 2007.  That didn't tell the whole story though.  In the Women's division, Nice Bristols won Spirit of the Game alongside their 6th place.  In the Open division, Chevron took the silver medal, and EMO finished a fantastic 13th, which should secure an additional place for UK teams at xEUCF 2013.
