GB Beach Ultimate 2015 - Womens Masters

Congratulations and thanks to Kate Ford, Alizé Clough and Steph Balsys, who will lead the GB Women's Masters team at WCBU 2015 - thereby ensuring that we will have a team in all seven divisions of the tournament.  Please look out for news about trials for all WCBU squads on Britdisc, this website and our facebook page.

GB Ultimate latest news

Plans for GB Ultimate 2015-16 are getting into full swing now:

Beach team appointments are mostly complete - but we're still looking for applicants to run the Masters-Women team.

We're inviting applicants for Under-23s and the Junior squads.

UKU has also created a part-time GB Administrator post to support the U23, senior, masters and beach teams - and we're extending the deadline for applications to end August.

The process for applying to manage the senior and masters squads for EUC 2015 and WUGC 2016 will announced soon.

Regional Development initiative

To support our plans to see "Ultimate in every school, a club in every town, and a coach in every club," UK Ultimate is setting up a new initiative called the Regional Development Network.  Some background information, and an outline of the idea, is presented below - we hope to spark some debate and plenty of action.  The ideas will be discussed as part of a wider development discussion at the UKU Development Conference and AGM on Sat 13 Sept in Loughborough.  Why not come along?

UKU AGM and Board Elections 2014

The UK Ultimate AGM will take place at Charnwood College, Loughborough, on Sat 13 Sept alongside a Development Conference and an Elite Skills Clinic - more information here.  UK Ultimate board positions are held for three years and resignations are done on a rolling basis.  We invite applications to three positions this year (read on for more details).

Nationals: notes about trial SOTG results and no Game Advisors

Information for teams attending nationals.

Spirit of the Game scores.
Following Nationals this year UK Ultimate is going to trial spirit scores being published without anonymity.
This does not have any affect at the tournament and things will be "as normal" for how Nationals decides to handle spirit - this only concerns the publishing of scores following the event.
This change is only for this event.
Feedback on the above is welcome before the 1st of September.
Game Advisors
Please note that UK Ultimate will *not* be using game advisors at Nationals this weekend.
More information on UK Ultimate's plans regarding Game Advisors will be published in due time.

GB Administrator (U23 & Senior)

UK Ultimate Ltd is creating a part-time employed position to assisting GB Oversight committee and U23/Senior team managers and coaches with administration tasks.  Our aim is to ease the administration load on coaches and existing staff while improving the GB program with year on year efficiencies.

Statement on Ben Pocock

We are saddened and shocked to hear that a member of our community, Ben Pocock, was on board the plane which crashed over the Ukraine this week. Ben was a popular and much respected member of the Loughborugh University team and of EMO Ultimate.  Our thoughts are with Ben's family at this difficult time.
