Congratulations Ruth

UK Ultimate is proud to congratulate our GB Junior Programme Manager, Ruth Flight, on her well deserved involvement in the Queens Baton Relay. Ruth has worked for UK Ultimate since 2010 in her role. It's fantastic to see her contribution to sport as an athlete and volunteer rewarded.

UKU OWT2 - GB U17 Open request #ukut2

We are obviously pretty happy to have been able to publish the UKU OWT2 schedule ten days in advance of the event.  We have - however - hit a problem.  Unfortunately, despite publishing the list of entered teams several times, it was not until the schedule was published that we discovered that the GB U17 Open team was missing from the list of entrants.

UKU Membership Checks OWT1-2 2014 #ukut1 #ukut2

In the last six months we've been doing membership checks on a few of the teams at each of the UKU events.  We have found a low - but not insignificant - number of players forgetting to renew their membership. As a result we have decided to check ALL UK-based teams that played London Calling, and ALL UK-based teams that will attend OWT2.  We need full team-lists for both events - instructions as follows:

University Committee Elections - new Mixed Coordinator and applications reopened for Scottish Coordinator

The window for applications for Mixed Coordinator has now closed. There was only one candidate who put themselves forward for the role, so we are happy to welcome Sarah Harrison to the University Committee as Mixed Coordinator for a term of 2 years. We are excited to have Sarah on the committee and look forward to working with her. There is some further information about Sarah and her plans for the Mixed division below.

UKU extends the availability of Level 1 coaching courses

UK Ultimate has entered into partnership with Sport Structures to support the delivery of coach education courses. The agreement will see Sport Structures as exclusive providers of a new Level 1 coaching qualification for non-Ultimate participants across the UK. The agreement will see Sport Structures market and manage the delivery of level 1 course in conjunction with the other sports they current provide for the sports sector.

University Coordinators Committee Elections

From 2014/2015 the University Coordinators Committee (UCC) will be introducing annual elections. To maintain some consistency within the committee only selected positions will be put to election each year. Positions will be awarded for a 2-year term so, under normal circumstances, elections for each position will be held every 2 years.

In preparation for the 2014/2015 season the UCC are looking to elect a new Scottish Regional Coordinator and Mixed Division Coordinator.
