UKU AGM Registration

At the beginning of next month (Saturday November 3rd at 16:00) we’re hosting our AGM.

We're going to be running it online to try and make it accessible to as many people as possible. The event is open to all UKU members (including people that were members 2017-18) and is free to attend.

We’ll be using Zoom to host the meeting.  Please register here beforehand so that we know how many people are planning to attend.  After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the AGM.  It will be possible to register or join at the last minute but should we have very high interest in the AGM we may run out of space.

GB U24 and Masters managers 2019 application deadline extended

Following our call for GBU24 and GB Masters squad managers, we have received no applications the roles of GBU24 Manager and GB Mixed Masters Squad Manager.  Consequently the GB Committee is extending the deadline for applications for those roles ONLY until Monday 15th October.

As a reminder the 2019 World U24 Ultimate Championships are to be held in Germany, July 2019.  For the U24 Manager role you can find the role outline here.  This volunteer role is primarily about good organisation and project management and will involve working closely with UKU Performance Director, Ali Tincknell, as well as the squad coaches.  It is not a coaching role, and there is no requirement to be a past, current or future GB player.  The position is not fixed to the competition cycle, but will be reviewed after 1 year with the potential to extend further.  Applications should be made using this form.

Applicants for the GB Mixed Masters Squad Manager role should note that the exact locations and dates of both EMUC 2019 and WMUC 2020 are still to be decided and anyone interested in a leadership role should consider the potential impact of this during their application; in particular considering the possibility that WMUC may not be in Europe.  EUF is aiming to announce the date and location of EMUC 2019 by the end of October, and we are hopeful that WFDF will make their announcement before then. Applications should be made using this form.  Team manager responsibilities are outlined here

The closing date for both roles is midnight 15th October.

EBUCC groups announced

Changes to Reporting and Tracking Spirit Scores at University Competitions

Following discussions between the UKU Spirit of the Game Committee and the UKU University Committee we have decided to make some changes to reporting Spirit and how we follow up on Spirit results particularly looking at the university BUCS league.

Both committees felt we should be putting more emphasis on Spirit at the university level especially the BUCS league where previously there has not been the emphasis on the recording of spirit scores which we see at university regional and national events. Therefore we have decided to make the following changes
