UKU Event Announcements

This newsletter is intended to provide a simple stream of information about UKU events. At the point of launch, the intention is that this will provide a definitive source of the most important information relating to UKU events: - dates - registration processes - news updates in the weeks preceding an event (e.g. schedule released, etc)

University "Open" Indoors becomes "Men's"

Just a note to remind everyone of this change, and to explain it.

BUCS will recognise either Men's and Women's, or Mixed, but not both. So when we had just one division, they were happy enough to let us call it 'Open' and have everyone play. However, by sanctioning Women's this year (unequivocally a good thing - BUCS points, lots of people's entry and hotels paid for etc) we lose that option.

UKU/BUCS University Indoors 2014-15 - Entries open

Entries are now open for BUCS Indoor events. Please see the relevant event pages for more info:

Mixed entries will go live just as soon as we have all 7 venues nailed down!

University Indoor Venues Announcement

UKU are pleased to announce the venues for (almost) all of our University Indoor Championships 2014-15.

UKU Regionals - Reminder of rostering rules

All teams playing this weekend are reminded that:

a) all players require at least Basic membership

b) some rostering rules do still apply

UKU Venue Database - your help needed!

UK Ultimate will be centrally organising more and more tournaments in the future - starting with the University tournaments this academic year, as previously announced on the Uni groups (see attached). This will ensure that any monies raised go back into the development of the sport in this country, and that we can continue to make improvements to the quality of all our events.

UKU Open and Women's Tour Final Standings 2014

We are delighted to congratulate Clapham (Open) and Punt (Women's) - the UKU Tour Champions 2014.

Despite one or two close games along the way, Clapham proved to be comfortably the strongest team in the UK once again - and very possibly the strongest in Europe if London Calling is anything to go by!

Your chance to play some Ultimate...

UKU Regionals and Nationals

What is regionals for?

Regionals is, above all, a chance to play a local tournament. Each year we hear of one or two teams not attending because they don't think they'll qualify for Nationals - which when you think about it is all backward.
