UKU U17/U14 Indoor Nationals - ResultsAirBadgers 2 Thanks to everyone involved for an epic U17/U14 Indoor Nationals this past weekend in Wolverhampton. With 44 teams across the two divisions we saw countless close games and some incredible skill - the future is very bright!
Congratulations to AirBadgers 2 (St Peter's, Exeter) on their exciting sudden-death victory over Flux 1 (Twycross House) in the U17 division final, patiently overcoming the excellent zonal defence from Flux that had earlier seen the strong favourites AirBadgers 1 defeated in a thrilling semifinal. After many years of domination, Airbadgers have been replaced at the top of the tree - by yet more AirBadgers... The award for the team displaying the best Spirit of the Game in the U17 division went to AirBadgers 3, and the Most Valuable Player award for the final went to Ethan Morrell of Flux 1. In the U14 divison, many congratulations to DHSB A (Devonport High School for Boys) who retain their title with a close-fought victory over AirBadgers A and once again ensure that both trophies are heading to the far South West. There's still a way to go to match the dominance that AirBadgers are showing in the older division, but two in a row is a great start! The Spirit of the Game award went to Flux A, and the MVP of the final was Jack Lashbrook of DHSB. Full results and spirit scores below.
There was a small amount of lost property, which we have yet to catalogue. It will make its way down to U20 Nationals in a few weeks' time - do get in touch in the meantime if you've lost something. Thanks once again to the venue, to the very well-behaved players, and to all the teachers and parents and helpers who make this possible each year. We hope you had as much fun as we did!
