We are pleased to now confirm the date and location for University Mixed Outdoor Nationals for the 2019-20 season!

Following consultation with the University clubs and discussion within the University Committee, UXON 2020 will be held in the summer. This is partly to try and reduce the impact of the weather on the competition, after several years of compromised events due to high levels of snow or water-logged fields, as well as to enable us to build the competition into something bigger and better!

For 2020, UXON will be held on 13th-14th June at The Pavilion, Birmingham (B6 7AA). There will be free camping available on the Friday and Saturday night, and an indoor bar area will be open so that you can make the most of the event!

We do understand that this weekend may still overlap with the end of term/exams for some institutions, and may negatively affect some teams and players. However, this is the best available compromise taking into account the feedback we received and the information collected on exam periods and term dates, as well as venue facilities and availability.  This is obviously an experiment, but the Uni Committee concluded that we really had to try it to find out for sure how well (or badly) it would work out in practice. Also, we hope that with it still being relatively early in the season, there will be plenty of time to organise logistics and travel arrangements meaning that all of you will be able to attend!

Entries for UXON will be open on GoMembership from Tuesday 25th February 2020 until the Closing Date on Thursday 26th March 2020.

Finally, we will also be contacting university players and club committees to seek some initial input into the pros and cons of applying to create a BUCS Cup Competition in the Mixed Division, including a final that becomes part of the BUCS Big Wednesday event in March. Moving UXON helps us create space in the calendar to make this feasible, whilst also enabling us to retain the large Mixed competition in the summer. We envision that these events could work well alongside each other, giving students as many opportunities to play as possible.
