Thanks to Georgie Davin!

Following the recent appointments to the board of directors we're sad to say goodbye from the board to Georgie Davin.

Georgie joined the board in 2009 and has been ever present on the board since then. Georgie's hard work and expertise have been invaluable to the board throughout her tenure and it is remarkable how much ultimate in the UK has changed in that time.

Georgie has been one of the key individuals in developing the medical support available both to players at UK Ultimate events and those competing as part of the GB teams. Everything from developing paperwork and organising supplies to managing the physio pool has been guided by Georgie. Anyone who has made use of medical support in either of those forms has benefited from her efforts.

At both WU23's 2015 and WUGC 2016 the medical provision was a truly massive operation, with a minor hospital setup on site for both events and numerous medical staff involved throughout the week. It should come as no surprise that this was overseen by Georgie and without her it would not have been possible.

She has also been particularly influential on both the Women's and GB committees. In recent years redeveloping the committee's function to further develop Ultimate for UK women and empowering a renewed group to take on work like the "Find a Team project". While Georgie will be stepping back from the Women's committee later in the year we are fortunate that she will continue to chair the GB Committee.

We wish Georgie good luck with the GB Women’s masters team at EMUC 2019 and we’re sure you’ll continue to see her on the pitch for many years to come.  If you see her, please say “Thanks”!.
