UKU U14 / U17 Open Indoor Qualifier, Swindon, 2025

  • The Swindome Supermarine Road Swindon, England, SN3 4BZ United Kingdom (map)

For the first time ever, based on the growth of these divisions, we are running qualifiers as part of the U14 / U17 Open Indoor National Championships. These events are for all players in the U14 and U17 divisions. The age categories for these divisions are different to the age bands used in English schools, so please check eligibility details below.

We are running three events on the same weekend in Manchester, Horsham and Swindon. This is the Swindon event page.

Please go to the event page for the event you want to enter:

Entries will be open soon.

This event will follow the UKU Tournament Rules.

Is this your first tournament?

Ultimate is often played in day, weekend or week-long tournaments at which teams compete in a number of games rather than playing one-off fixtures. Indoors teams are 5 a-side but we reccommend bringing around 8 players.

We aim to ensure that schedules provide suitable game time and that teams have adequate rest.

You can find the indoor rules of Ultimate here, but if you have any questions please ask.

After each game please make sure your team provides a Spirit Score for your opposition. More information can be found in the accordion below and on our website here.

Entry details and eligibility:

When entries are open there will be a link at the top of this page. If you need help entering your team, please see this document.

Eligibility:

For a player to be eligible to compete at this event:

Under-17 (U17) Divisions – A player participating in these divisions must be twelve (12) years old or older and must not be seventeen (17) years old or older during the academic year in which the tournament concludes.

Under-14 (U14) Divisions – A player participating in these divisions must be ten (10) years old or older and must not be fourteen (14) years old or older during the academic year in which the tournament concludes.

(more info can be found in the Youth Event Specific Rule Appendix and UKU Competition Rules- young age groups )

There is no 'minimum standard' your team must meet - there will be teams of beginners participating. If you are a newly formed school team, this is still for you!

Players playing for UKU-affiliated schools playing as school teams are not required to have membership.

All other players must have minimum UKU Basic Membership.

If you are a player or a small group of players without enough for a full team, then it may be possible to arrange for you to join up with another team. We simply need you to explain your situation by emailing events@ukultimate.com and we will let you know if there’s an appropriate team for you to join.

Please also note that eligibility decisions are made by volunteers so please get in touch early.

  • Scoring should be a team effort

  • Go through each category on the online scorecard (you might want to remind the team what each one means)

  • Ask players to use their fingers to indicate their score (0-4). Ask anyone who scores more or less than 2 to briefly explain their reason - this may help others who can change their score if they want to. Try to go with the majority

  • Remember a score of 2 is ‘good’ or ‘as expected.

  • Leave a comment to explain if any of your scores for an category are 0 or 4.
