Club Nationals and Div 2 Nationals Important Update

Last week, staff at the University of Nottingham informed us that as a result of prolonged hot weather and lack of rain, the pitches at Riverside are hard, baked, and unsafe for competitive play. As a result, the university has officially cancelled our Riverside booking, and we cannot hold Div 2 Nationals there on Sept 5–6.

Here is where things stand and our immediate next steps:

Club Nationals and Div 2 Mixed Nationals

We are exploring whether we can adjust pitch access and timing at Highfields to relocate Div 2 Mixed to run alongside Club Nationals.

However, all play at Highfields remains subject to pitch assessment. We are expecting an update from the university by the start of next week and we will send an update on Highfields availability and the impact on Club Nationals and Div 2 Mixed following that update.

Div 2 Open Nationals: Cancelled

Highfields does not have the pitch capacity to host both Div 2 divisions. Over the last week, our team reached out to a large number ofalternative venues, but a combination of existing bookings and hard ground conditions means no safe, viable alternative has been identified.

As a result we have made the difficult decision to cancel Div 2 Open Nationals for this season.

• Refunds: All Div 2 Open teams will receive a full refund of their team entry fees.
