UKU Tour 2026 Important Update and Changes
We are announcing the confirmed teams for Tour 1 in all three divisions, alongside some late adjustments to our plans for the 2026 UKU Ranking Tour. The key points are summarized below, with full details available in this document.
The allocation of Ranking points is being simplified by reverting to an older, straightforward system, and we are pausing the approach of geographically splitting events in the same division on the same date.
Specific Divisional Incentives:
Women's Division: Teams competing at Windfarm will receive free entry to the St Albans event.
Open & Mixed Divisions: The respective winners of the Windfarm and Reading events will secure direct qualification to Nationals. (Note: This qualification remains subject to the standard National Championship Series roster rules.)
Why?
Over 2-3 years, we aim to re-establish The UKU Tour of 3 connected weekend tournaments that provide a broader opportunity for ongoing competition and ranking for more clubs than are accessing the UKU National Championships Series.
We want a clearer and more meaningful competitive season for teams that are at and below the boundary of qualification to UKU Nationals, providing an alternative to being inappropriately drawn into EUCS.
We want competitive options that allow and encourage those players who want to, to play both single-gender and mixed divisions.
What are the incentives about?
We want to nudge teams and players that have decided not to enter some of these events to take another look.
The Women’s division is in a very different position to the other two divisions right now and we felt that removing one of the top teams from the Qualifiers in July was counter-productive, and that offering free entry to St Albans was more direct and more relevant.
We expect to develop and/or add to the competitive incentives in 2027.
